Joel Ntiamoah Marfo is an advocate for hearing and speech impaired rights and accessibility, with over 10 years of experience in the field of sign language interpreting. As the co-founder and executive director of HSIIF, he provides visionary leadership and strategic direction to the organization, driving its mission of promoting inclusivity and empowerment for hearing and speech impaired individuals.
Samuel Ofosu Ampadu brings extensive experience in project management and operations to HSIIF. Studied most of the sign language directly from the Deaf in 2007, he has over 16 years of experience in the sign language interpreting field. As the director of operations, he oversees the day-to-day management of the organization, ensuring the smooth delivery of sign language interpreting services and the effective implementation of programs and initiatives.
He also serves as a sign language translator for Watchtower Bible & Tract Society of Ghana. Samuel is committed to upholding the organization's values of professionalism, quality, and accessibility.
Dr. Obosu is a seasoned certified sign language interpreter with a passion for facilitating effective communication between hearing and speech impaired and hearing individuals. He currently serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Education and Psychology, University of Cape Coast.
He is well known in the country as a sign language facilitator and trainer, having trained many skilled signlanguage interpreters. He manages and oversees all the interpreters in the foundation. He is dedicated to ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in the interpreting work.
Portia Asabea Vidjah is a certified sign language interpreter specializing in social and medical settings. Working closely with the Head of Interpreting, she assists in managing the interpreting team, overseeing service quality, and implementing best practices to meet the diverse needs of our clients and stakeholders. Her leadership, expertise, and dedication to excellence is instrumental in advancing our mission of promoting inclusivity and accessibility for hearing and speech impaired individuals.
Nicholas is a passionate advocate for hearing and speech impaired education and community empowerment. As an educational interpreter, he supports hearing and speech impaired students in academic settings, ensuring they have equal access to educational resources and opportunities. Nicholas also leads community outreach initiatives, organizing workshops and events to raise awareness about hearing and speech impaired culture and linguistic rights.
Imurana oversees financial management and grant administration at HSIIF. He is responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and grant proposal development. Imurana ensures compliance with funding requirements and seeks opportunities to secure funding to support the organization's programs and initiatives.
As the Head of Research at HSIIF, Daniel leads the organization's research initiatives aimed at advancing knowledge, informing practice, and promoting evidence-based approaches to deaf advocacy and communication accessibility. He oversees a team of researchers and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and execute research projects, analyze data, and disseminate findings to inform policy, programming, and advocacy efforts.
